The 137-meter bulk carrier YANGZE VENUS, which experienced a machinery failure off the coast of Çanakkale, was safely secured through a swift and coordinated intervention.
According to a statement made by the General Directorate of Coastal Safety on their social media account, while en route from Karabiga to Italy, the vessel malfunctioned approximately 17 nautical miles from Gelibolu, off the coast of Şarköy. Under the coordination of the Çanakkale Vessel Traffic Services Center, the vessel was towed by the salvage tug KURTARMA-19 and safely anchored in the Karabiga Anchorage Area.
No negative incidents occurred in terms of maritime traffic and environmental safety in the region.
