FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM will increase Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates from November 18 and December 1 until further notice but not beyond December 31. On November 18 a general rate restoration applies to all cargo from Southeast Asia and East Coast of India to all ports in West Africa at US$300 per TEU.
From December 1, the increase applies to all cargo from China, South Korea and Taiwan to all ports in West Africa at US$300 per container regardless of size.
Also from December 1, rates will increase to $950 per container regardless of size on all cargo from North European base ports to China and North and South Asia.
