The US renews emergency powers limiting Russian-affiliated vessels at its ports for another year, as reported by Saint Petersburg's PortNews.
The United States has renewed for another year emergency powers restricting Russian-affiliated vessels at its ports, reported Saint Petersburg's PortNews.
The extension preserves authority under Proclamation 10371, allowing the Secretary of Homeland Security to regulate anchorage and vessel traffic linked to Russian interests under the National Emergencies Act and the Magnuson Act.
The notice stated that underlying conditions remain unchanged, maintaining the legal basis for continued enforcement.
These measures allow US authorities to deny entry, impose routing conditions, or otherwise regulate Russian-affiliated tonnage in US waters.
The regime will remain in force for 12 months, with the notice to be published in the Federal Register and sent to Congress.
The Executive Office of the President supports federal policy execution and interagency coordination, while the Department of Homeland Security oversees maritime security and vessel movement regulations.
