UK: CTruk Boats Bags Five Orders at Seawork 2012

CTruk Boats, innovative UK shipyard on the east coast, has secured five new orders at Seawork 2012. The company will build the first CVenture40, which offers year-round utilisation for owner-operators, and four 19m multi-purpose catamarans (MPC).

CTruk Boats, innovative UK shipyard on the east coast, has secured five new orders at Seawork 2012. The company will build the first CVenture40, which offers year-round utilisation for owner-operators, and four 19m multi-purpose catamarans (MPC). Andy White, Chairman of CTruk Boats, said, “These orders establish CTruk Boats as the leading, innovative UK shipyard and demonstrate the demand for ground-breaking vessels with solid specifications”. He explained, “The innovative construction of our 19m and 28m workboats means they are half the cost of similar aluminium vessels”. CVenture40 is designed to offer luxury expedition charters in the Caribbean in the winter months, accessing remote locations with as little as 1m draft where other super yachts cannot go. CTruk Boats’ flexible pod system means that, in the style of 18th century British warships, the charter cabins can be broken down to carry people (rather than cannons!) to service wind farms in the European summer. The four 19m MPCs have been ordered by an existing operator and three new owner-operators as part of CWind’s boat share scheme. These vessels will be built this year and immediately go on contract to the UK’s east coast.
