Visit the 'In the Wake of a Victory' exhibition showcasing Turkish maritime history and Gallipoli ship models from March 5 to March 31.

The exhibition 'In the Wake of a Victory: Turkish Maritime History and Gallipoli Ship Models,' prepared in collaboration with the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Ahmet Piriştina City Archive and Museum (APİKAM) and the İzmir Museum Ships Directorate, will welcome visitors at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center from March 5 to March 31.

Organized on the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the Gallipoli Naval Victory on March 18, the exhibition 'In the Wake of a Victory: Turkish Maritime History and Gallipoli Ship Models' addresses Turkish maritime history with a holistic perspective, covering the period from the Ottoman Empire to the early years of the Republic. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Thursday, March 5, at 17:00 and will be open for visits until March 31.

Focusing on the historical process in which the sea became a line of defense in Gallipoli, the exhibition highlights ships that changed the course of the war, particularly the Nusrat Mine Ship, and makes visible the maritime knowledge behind this success.

The exhibition also features ship models of iconic vessels in Turkish history, such as the Bandırma Ferry and Savarona. The ship models are accompanied by photographs selected from the APİKAM archive and examples from newspapers of the period. Thus, visitors have the opportunity to closely examine not only the technical specifications of the ships but also the historical relationship of a nation with the sea and the development of maritime culture.

The exhibition presents a comprehensive narrative of maritime history dedicated to the Turkish maritime heritage and the masters who have carried this heritage into the present day. The exhibition can be visited on weekdays and on Saturdays and Sundays from 08:30 to 17:30 in the upper east gallery of the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center and will remain open until March 31.
