Turkish freighter Servet-K has hit rocks off the Aegean coast of Turkey and rough seas are hampering rescue efforts to evacuate the 12 crew members.

The state-run Anatolia news agency says the Servet-K ran aground Monday off the town of Turgutreis, close to the resort town of Bodrum. Two coast guard cutters and a tug boat have been sent to the site.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.
