Tugs lost control over barge which subsequently, struck a lock gate

Tug MB-1204 (726 gt, built 1987) and tug OT-2032 (640 gt, built 1970), towing the barge ARK-11, while entering lock chamber No.1, at the 879.3-kilometre mark, on the Volga-Baltic Canal, lost control of the barge, which subsequently, struck the lock gate with its bow, at 1535 hrs, Oct 1. The barge remained undamaged, however the upper section of the gate airlock sustained damages.
