A train-truck collision at Constanța Port on November 1 resulted in serious injuries to a 57-year-old man. Investigation underway.

On the afternoon of November 1, a train collided with a semi-trailer truck at the South-Agigea Port in Constanța, Romania. According to information reported by public broadcaster Radio România Constanța from police and health authorities, the accident occurred near Gate 10 of the port.

The Constanța County Police Inspectorate announced that traffic safety teams received a notification around 4:30 PM. Initial findings indicate that the truck was driven by a 49-year-old man, while the train was operated by a 60-year-old engineer. It was reported that both drivers tested negative for alcohol.

In the police's preliminary assessment, it was noted that a 57-year-old individual who was seriously injured may have been located on the buffer of the last wagon at the time of the collision. Emergency teams from SMURD and the county ambulance service were dispatched to the scene for the injured person. After receiving medical intervention, the injured individual was transported to the hospital.

Initial reports indicated that the individual was a pedestrian; however, a later police statement pointed to the person's position on the wagon. Authorities announced that an investigation has been initiated under the charge of causing bodily harm by negligence. The cause of the accident and the responsibilities of the parties involved will be determined through the ongoing investigation.
