Three Turks are set to be repatriated after a hantavirus outbreak on a ship led to fatalities and evacuations before heading to the Netherlands.
The ship that caused the death of three people due to a hantavirus outbreak is expected to evacuate some of its passengers and crew before continuing its journey to the Netherlands.
The Spanish Ministry of Health announced that the individual who died due to the hantavirus would remain on board the ship along with the crew.
It was stated that non-Spanish passengers would be disembarked from the ship once evacuation flights sent by their countries are ready, with aircraft being dispatched from France, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
The Ministry of Health also announced that no symptoms have been detected in the three Turkish citizens aboard the ship and that the citizens will be brought back to Turkey today. The ministry reported that the three individuals returning to Turkey will be placed under quarantine at their homes, and their health processes will be closely monitored.
