Taiwan's logistics industry anticipates significant growth by 2026, fueled by AI in air freight and stable dry bulk shipping, according to Taiwan News.
Taiwan's logistics industry expects strong growth in 2026, supported by AI-driven air freight and stable dry bulk shipping, reports Taipei's Taiwan News.
Freight forwarder Dimerco stated that air and sea freight volumes rose by approximately 20 percent year on year in 2025, with consolidated revenue reaching NT$29.3 billion (US$925.65 million), an increase of 4.8 percent. Transpacific shipments of high-value goods, such as AI server components, drove air freight growth, with rates on key Asian routes hitting historic highs.
Dimerco chairwoman Chien Wen-chun noted that AI-related cargo will continue to support air freight to North America and Europe, even as ocean shipping faces capacity mismatches. Integrated logistics company Chien Shing reported record revenue of NT$3.24 billion in 2025, up 12 percent, with coal storage and automated unloading systems at Taichung and Kaohsiung ports remaining central to operations.
Chien Shing mentioned that non-coal activities are expanding, including natural gas pipeline handling and warehousing for AI and wind power projects. The company plans further investment in automation and warehouse capacity to strengthen long-term growth.
