SIPG reports a 41.22% net profit increase in Q3 2026, driven by revenue growth and advancements in green technology and operational efficiency.
Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. (SIPG) has released its third-quarter 2026 financial results, reporting operating revenue of approximately RMB 11.408 billion for the period, representing year-on-year growth of 9.90%. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached approximately RMB 4.566 billion, a year-on-year increase of 41.22%. The notably wider gap between profit growth and revenue growth reflects measurable progress in both throughput expansion and operational efficiency improvement.
On a cumulative basis for the first three quarters, SIPG recorded operating revenue of RMB 32.836 billion, up 9.64% year-on-year, with net profit attributable to listed company shareholders reaching RMB 13.085 billion, representing growth of 16.08%. The outperformance of the third quarter relative to the nine-month aggregate underscores the contribution of peak-season cargo volumes to overall financial results.
On the green and low-carbon front, SIPG Energy's methanol bunkering vessel Haigang Zhiyuan successfully completed a ship-to-ship simultaneous bunkering operation, delivering 2,824 tonnes of locally produced green methanol to EUKOR Car Carriers' first methanol dual-fuel vehicle carrier, Arctic Tern. The operation establishes a replicable and scalable 'Shanghai Model' - locally produced, locally bunkered - for the global maritime decarbonisation transition.
During the same period, the LNG bunkering vessel Haigang Weilai completed an LNG bunkering operation for Pacific International Lines' 'KOTA EAGLE' at anchorage, delivering 4,549 cubic metres of LNG. SIPG's cumulative LNG bunkering operations have now reached 355 vessel calls, with total bunkering volume surpassing two million cubic metres. The sustained enhancement of green fuel bunkering infrastructure reinforces the port's capacity to support shipping companies deploying methanol- and LNG-powered vessels at Shanghai Port.
In digital and intelligent technology, SIPG unveiled its 'Data + Model + Agent + Application' integrated artificial intelligence innovation product framework at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference. Its subsidiary, Nezha Technology, launched AITOS - the country's first AI-native architecture next-generation terminal operating system - positioning the platform as a new technical paradigm for green and intelligent port development, with the dual objectives of elevating throughput capacity and core competitiveness while reducing operating costs and operational risk.
On the cargo handling side, Shanghai Port set a new single-day container throughput record on 1 August, processing 203,881 TEUs within a 24-hour period, surpassing the previous record of 187,312 TEUs established on 9 June. Within that day, the first shift alone handled 71,728 TEUs, itself a single-shift record. The continued improvement in operational efficiency has provided the foundation for sustained service stability during peak-season high-volume operations.
Taken together, SIPG's third-quarter results demonstrate concurrent progress across profit growth, green fuel bunkering, and digital intelligence development. For freight forwarders and shipping clients, the enhancement of green bunkering services and intelligent port capabilities is expected to deliver more comprehensive port-side support for vessels operating on relevant trade lanes, with specific operational arrangements to be confirmed on a per-shipment basis in accordance with vessel schedules and prevailing port conditions.
