Singapore's port recorded its highest monthly container throughput of 2025 and the strongest bunker fuel sales in over 18 months, reports Saint Petersburg's PortNews. According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), container throughput reached 3.87 million TEU in July, marking the busiest month of the year for the port.
Vessel calls for bunkering rose 7.3 per cent from June to 3,651, while bunker fuel sales climbed to 4.92 million metric tons, up 7.0 per cent month-on-month and 5.7 per cent year on year.
The figures reflect sustained demand at Singapore, the world's largest ship refuelling hub. July's bunker sales were the highest recorded since early 2024.
The MPA, a statutory board under Singapore's Ministry of Transport, oversees port regulation, maritime development, navigational safety and bunkering standards.
