Savannah Coast Guard saves man on Jacksonville cruise ship
JACKSONVILLE, FLA (WTOC) - A Savannah Coast Guard helicopter transported a 52-year-old man experiencing stroke-like symptoms from a cruise ship that was 18 miles off of the coast of Jacksonville. Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville Command Center watchstanders were made aware of a man on board of the Carnival Elation who was exhibiting signs of a stroke Saturday at 9:12 p.m. A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Savannah medevacked the man at 11:07 p.m., bringing him to the Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
