Ali GURUN of Sanmar A.S. has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director at the Shipowners’ Club and attended his first Board meeting in Dubai UAE recently.
Based in the Turkey for many years, Ali Gurun is Technical Director and Shareholder of the Club’s longstanding Member, Sanmar. Sanmar celebrated it’s 40th year anniversary during 2016.
Mr. Gurun graduated from Istanbul Technical University as a Mechanical Engineer in 1993 and received a Masters degree in Marine Engineering at the same University in 1996.
The Shipowners’ Club is a mutual marine liability insurer, providing Protection & Indemnity insurance to small and specialist vessels since 1855. The Club is a member of the International Group of P&I Clubs and works with more than 600 broking companies globally to insure over 32,000 vessels across a range of operating sectors and geographical areas.
