The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure's General Directorate of Maritime Affairs announced that the security level for Turkish-flagged vessels in the Strait of Hormuz has been raised to the highest level.
Following radio broadcasts indicating that Iran has banned ship passages through the Strait of Hormuz, the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs issued a security alert for Turkish-flagged vessels in the region. The announcement noted that the ISPS Code Security Level has been raised to 3.

In a statement shared via social media, the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs provided an update on the current situation in the region. The statement included, 'Information has been received that radio broadcasts have been made indicating that Iran has banned ship passages through the Strait of Hormuz, and the ISPS Code Security Level for Turkish-flagged vessels in the region is 3. It is important to follow navigation announcements in the area and to contact the Main Search and Rescue Coordination Center (AAKKM) if necessary.'
