RMK Marine has commenced construction of a state-of-the-art yacht shipyard in Yalova, aiming to revolutionize yacht production in Turkey.
RMK Marine has officially begun construction for the new RMK Yachts Shipyard, which focuses solely on yacht production, located in Yalova, just next to Istanbul. This new facility, rising on approximately 70,000 square meters of waterfront land, aims to become a new reference point for yacht production in Turkey with its design approach, technical infrastructure, and sustainability vision.
With this new investment, RMK Marine's Tuzla facilities will completely focus on commercial and military projects. Thus, both yacht and ship production capacity will be significantly increased through separate specialized facilities. RMK Yachts will also be positioned as a global brand and a strong player in the mega yacht market.
The relocation process at the RMK Yachts Yalova Shipyard is planned to begin in the last quarter of 2026, with full-capacity production expected to commence in 2027.
A Holistic Approach from Design to Organization
In the design of the new shipyard, the unique sensitivities of yacht production, aesthetic and high-quality expectations, as well as engineering and long-term operational requirements have been addressed in meticulous detail. All elements, from the architectural layout of the facility to the production flow, human behaviors to material logistics, have been designed with a holistic perspective.
This approach is expressed by RMK Yachts Director Cüneyt Okcu with the following words: 'The true value of a shipyard is determined not only by its machinery but also by the intellect, labor, craftsmanship, and creativity produced within it. The new spirit of RMK Yachts is based precisely on this perspective.'
Designed as a facility where not only super yachts but also a production culture is shaped, the new shipyard features offices inspired by the maritime spirit, social areas, state-of-the-art production workshops, and hangars. Additionally, there are specially designed gyms, cafes, training and relaxation areas, and exclusive hospitality venues for guests and business partners.
This strategic investment project, which aims to activate Turkey's most advanced yacht production facility, will also include marina services covering approximately 5,000 square meters developed in collaboration with Setur Marina, alongside a yachting museum to be created in cooperation with the Rahmi M. Koç Museum.
Sustainability and Green Transformation
The new production facility, designed in accordance with LEED certification standards, places sustainability, renewable energy use, and low-carbon operations at the center of its development. Energy efficiency, environmentally friendly production methods, and a long-term ecological understanding form the structural foundations of the shipyard, aiming to meet not only today's industrial requirements but also the expectations of future generations. The construction activities of the shipyard are being carried out by Ark İnşaat, a subsidiary of Koç Holding.
In the shipyard, three hangars measuring 30x120 meters are allocated for new construction projects, while two hangars measuring 40x80 and 35x55 meters are planned for refit projects. In addition, a 10,000 square meter open refit area and a total of 700 meters of dock space provide extensive operational flexibility. Lifting operations will be carried out with two travel lifts of 720 tons and 320 tons, and a floating dock included in the investment will offer safe and efficient lifting capabilities for vessels up to 150 meters in length.
RMK Marine General Manager Dr. Utku Alanç expressed this strategic investment plan with the following words: 'With the new investment project, our facilities operating in Tuzla will completely focus on commercial and military projects. Thus, we will significantly increase both our yacht and ship production capacity through separate specialized facilities. With these two separate facilities, we aim not only to increase capacity but also to create distinct production cultures that are deepened and specialized within each field.'
RMK Yachts aims to leave a sustainable and lasting legacy in the industry with its new shipyard, which will serve as a reference for the future, preserving its value and meaning over time while continuously reinventing itself.
