RECENTLY elected Republican Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy has used an Adminstrative Order (AO) to dismantle the state's climate change bureaucracy that his Democratic predecessor created through an AO. In an emailed statement, a spokesman for Governor Dunleavy said: 'These AOs are not aligned with the Governor's policy direction, and/or appear to have been made primarily for political or public relations purposes.'

The governor has dismissed the state's climate team and scrapped its climate policy and plan, leaving the state without an 'official strategy for addressing climate change' notes Anchorage's Arctic Today.

The embryonic climate change bureaucrats planned to meet targets for transition to renewable energy sources, and establish a carbon-pricing or carbon-tax system.
