Andaç Pamuk outlines CHP's vision for a green industrial revolution, emphasizing ship recycling standards and strategic infrastructure in İzmir.

Andaç Pamuk, a member of the Industry and Technology Policy Board of the CHP Presidential Candidate Office, shared the CHP's vision for industry and logistics in various areas, from ship recycling facilities in Aliağa to thermal power plants, the defense industry, and the privatization discussions of İzmir Port, in a statement made in İzmir. Pamuk stated that they will implement a planned development model in line with the goal of a green industrial revolution.

Andaç Pamuk evaluated industrial and technology policies in İzmir. He mentioned that the CHP will put into practice a planned development model in line with the goal of a 'green industrial revolution.'

Pamuk said, 'We promise the electorate planned development, high value-added production, technology-focused transformation, and a green industrial revolution. Instead of an understanding that confines Turkey to low-wage competition, we will establish a production model based on knowledge, R&D, and innovation.'

Criticizing the current industrial policies, Andaç Pamuk stated, 'Incentives are not selective, not long-term, not measurable, and do not accelerate technological transformation. Turkey's production structure, which is dependent on the import of intermediate goods and low technology intensity, has not changed.'

Andaç Pamuk emphasized, 'There has been no coordination between industrial policy and education, R&D, and financial policies. Our approach is data-driven, transparent, performance-oriented, and accountable industrial planning.'

Regarding foreign investments, Pamuk assessed, 'The rule of law, predictable economic policy, and independent institutions are fundamental criteria for foreign investors. Investments that create technology transfer, qualified employment, and export capacity will be prioritized.'

Speaking about the defense industry, Andaç Pamuk remarked, 'The defense industry is one of Turkey's most strategic areas and should not be the subject of daily political polemics.'

Pamuk added, 'The defense industry should be managed with principles of transparency, meritocracy, and institutional oversight, and should produce widespread benefits for the technology ecosystem. Under CHP governance, this area will be institutionalized and freed from political tension.'

In his evaluation of the ship recycling facilities in Aliağa, Andaç Pamuk highlighted the importance of international standards. He stated, 'Aliağa Ship Recycling facilities must be fully compliant with international environmental and occupational safety standards. Economic reasons can never take precedence over public health.'

Andaç Pamuk further noted, 'We will establish a transparent inspection mechanism compliant with EU norms. The ship recycling sector will be freed from informality and the perception of low standards.'

Regarding thermal power plants, Pamuk said, 'EIA processes must be participatory, scientific, and transparent. Coal-based production poses both environmental and economic risks in the long term.'

Andaç Pamuk also addressed the ongoing privatization discussions regarding İzmir Port, pointing to its strategic importance. He stated, 'İzmir is a natural logistics center. The integration of the port, railway, and free zone should be addressed in a planned manner.'

Andaç Pamuk concluded, 'İzmir Port is a strategic infrastructure. Privatization should only be evaluated within the framework of public interest, transparency, and strategic control principles. Our priority is to make İzmir the technology-supported logistics hub of the Eastern Mediterranean.'
