MWANI Qatar terminal has set a monthly record for container volume by handling over 133,000 TEU in November, reports The Peninsula Daily. General cargo increased 268 per cent at 233,000 tonnes. The terminal operating company providing services at the Port of Hamad, Terminals, also announced the highest volume of general bulk cargo since the company began in 2016.
'Terminals has record statistics this month as it has handled the highest number of TEU, general cargo, and bulk cargo since the company's inception in 2016. We are hugely proud of our staff for this excellent achievement,' said Terminals.
The port handled 129,747 TEU and 44,229 tonnes of bulk cargo. 154 vessels visited the Port of Hamad in November.
The Port of Qatar saw an increase of 17 per cent for container handling in October, reaching 128,500 TEU.
