The SEALLOYD ARC sank off Phuket after flooding; all 16 crew members were safely evacuated with no injuries reported.
The Panama-flagged dry cargo and container ship SEALLOYD ARC sank off Thailand's Phuket province after suffering flooding and developing a list, reported Saint Petersburg's PortNews.
The vessel, IMO 8682036 and 4,339 gross tons, sent a distress call southwest of Koh Kaew Noi, about 1.82 nautical miles from shore, with the alert logged at 15:18 local time.
A multi-agency response was launched involving maritime enforcement and naval units, with pollution-control measures prepared and oil-containment boom support requested from PTT Phuket.
All 16 crew members were evacuated safely to Ao Chalong. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
SEALLOYD ARC had departed Port Klang bound for Chittagong carrying containerised cargo.
