Pan Asia Line, Shekou Dachan Bay Terminal, and Nantong Tonghao Port sign a strategic agreement to develop a green shipping corridor in Shenzhen.
Shekou Dachan Bay Terminal, Nantong Tonghao Port, and Pan Asia Line recently convened in Shanghai to formally execute a strategic cooperative framework agreement on green shipping corridors.
The signing of this agreement marks the first concrete cooperation initiative to take effect since the Port of Shenzhen officially launched its green shipping corridor development programme.
The agreement represents a significant step in Shenzhen's concerted effort to implement the national 'dual carbon' strategic objectives and actively respond to the Ministry of Transport's 'Cooperative Initiative on International Green Shipping Corridors'. It also stands as a tangible demonstration of the Shenzhen port and shipping industry advancing APEC 2026 host diplomacy and contributing to the city's vision as a global maritime centre.
Under the terms of the agreement, the three parties will operate on principles of voluntary equality, mutual benefit, information sharing, openness and transparency, and coordinated carbon reduction - each leveraging its distinct strategic advantages. Dachan Bay Terminal draws on its pivotal position as a hub within the Pearl River Delta; Nantong Tonghao Port anchors the Yangtze River Delta's coastal and riverine network; and Pan Asia Line contributes the capacity and operational strength of its Yangtze River–South China trunk route. Together, they will establish a long-term, stable strategic partnership to jointly develop a dedicated green shipping corridor.
The three parties will pursue deep collaboration across new energy infrastructure investment, equipment upgrading, and digital interconnectivity - fostering shared experience and co-innovation to advance their collective goal of 'zero-carbon orientation,' cost efficiency, and mutual benefit. This cooperation is designed to serve as a replicable and scalable model for the high-quality development of green port and shipping initiatives nationwide, delivering a substantive stride forward in the port and shipping industry's green transition and low-carbon development trajectory.
