OOCL secures three prestigious awards at the Hong Kong Maritime Awards, recognizing its contributions to the shipping industry and talent development.
Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd. (OOCL) received three honours from the Hong Kong Marine Department and the Hong Kong Shipowners Association at their joint award ceremony on June 12, as reported in an OOCL press release.
The company was recognised as the shipowner placing the most gross tonnage on the Hong Kong Shipping Register in 2025, for outstanding performance in port state control, and for recruiting the most Hong Kong sea-going cadets last year.
About 240 representatives from the maritime sector attended the annual event, which aims to promote the services of the Hong Kong Shipping Register and the Shipowners Association while acknowledging the support of shipowners and shipping companies.
The gross tonnage award highlights OOCL's continued backing of the Hong Kong Flag, while the port state control award affirms its expertise in ship management and commitment to operational standards. The cadet recruitment award reflects its efforts to nurture young maritime talent.
OOCL expressed its honour in receiving the awards and pledged to maintain high standards in fleet management, operational excellence, and talent development, while continuing to support the Hong Kong Flag.
Headquartered in Hong Kong, OOCL operates about 130 offices in more than 100 major cities worldwide. The company is among the largest integrated container transport and logistics providers and is recognised for applying advanced technologies to enhance global supply chains.
