In the last quarter, NYK throughput hit 1.6 million TEU, and in December came to 540,000 TEU. From April through December - fiscal year to date - eastbound transpacific volume was flat year on year at five million TEU.
Westbound on the Asia-Europe route, volume was flat at 1.2 million TEU in last quarter of 2011, but up three per cent to 380,000 TEU in December. Fiscal year to date, westbound Asia-Europe volume was up one per cent to 3.9 million TEU.
