On Sep 25, 2018, Salvamento Marítimo carried out a medical evacuation from the 'Cruise Smeralda' 21 miles NE of Denia. A passenger had suffered a cut in the hand. The doctor on board the ferry requested a medevac by air, and the Helimer 219 helicopter hoisted the victium and took him to Valencia airport, where he was picked up by an ambulance for further treatment in hospital.
