The US Coast Guard medevaced a 60-year-old man from the 'Nord Chesapeake' in Cape Charles, Virginia, on Aug 2, 2018. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads were notified in the morning that a crew member was unconscious. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew was dispatched from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Once on-scene, the aircrew quickly hoisted the man aboard and transferred him to awaiting emergency medical personnel at Norfolk Sentara General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, despite the inclement weather throughout the area.
