Med Marine has delivered the fourth tugboat, DOUGGA, to OMMP, finalizing a fleet renewal program for Tunisian maritime operations.
Turkish tugboat manufacturer Med Marine announced the completion of the delivery of the fourth tugboat, DOUGGA, built for the Tunisian Office of Maritime Trade and Ports (Office de la Marine Marchande et des Ports - OMMP). The delivery marked the final link in the fleet renewal program the company has been conducting with Tunisia.
DOUGGA belongs to the RAstar 2800 series of ASD (Azimuth Stern Drive) tugboats designed by the Canadian company Robert Allan Ltd. The vessel has been produced to provide high maneuverability for port maneuvers, escorting, and emergency response operations.
The approximately 28-meter-long tugboat will serve in berthing and unberthing operations for large-tonnage commercial vessels, thanks to its high bollard pull capacity. The vessel is also equipped with a modern firefighting system and advanced navigation equipment.
DOUGGA is planned to be actively used in the main commercial port operations of OMMP. With the new tugboat, the aim is to enhance ship traffic safety and operational efficiency in Tunisian ports.
Previously, Med Marine had delivered three more tugboats to OMMP under the same program. With the delivery of DOUGGA, the company has completed the four-vessel project under contract for the Tunisian authority.
