The ITU Maritime Faculty (YDO) Alumni Association has announced a meaningful donation campaign aimed at strengthening solidarity among its graduates. In a statement made by the association, it was reported that Engineer Süleyman Savaş, a graduate of the YDO Mechanical Engineering Department from the class of 1975, has demonstrated exemplary loyalty and solidarity by donating all proceeds from his books to the ITU Maritime Faculty (YDO) Alumni Social Aid Foundation (DEFAV).
It was expressed that the works donated by Süleyman Savaş, titled 'I Threw My Life into the Water,' 'Why Are You Crying?' and 'Those Who Share Hope,' are valuable contributions that shed light on maritime life and humanitarian values. It was noted that all proceeds from these books will be used for social assistance and educational support for needy alumni, faculty students, and academics through DEFAV.
The Board of Directors of the ITU Maritime Faculty (YDO) Alumni Association thanked Süleyman Savaş on behalf of the community for this donation that strengthens the spirit of solidarity among graduates, emphasizing that this exemplary behavior is one of the most beautiful reflections of the YDO tradition.
