During the inspections aboard the 'Eid' it turned out on Aug 21 that there was no open fire when the tourist ferry was evacuated The smoke was caused by a leakage of lubricating oil. Fjord1 was pleased that the evacuation of passengers and crew was fine and that they the extent of the damage seemed to be limited. However, it will take some time before the final reason is clear. The 'Eid' was chartered by the Fjord1 ASA to The Fjords DÅ for operation in the Lyse fjord. The Fjords DÅ has now inserted a passenger boat for the connection.
