    LPG Tanker and cargo ship collided near Istanbul

    The dry cargo ship and tanker collided 30 miles off İmralı Island. Rescue vessels connected to the coastal police from Bursa and Istanbul were referred to the accident area where there was no dead or injured. It was learned that the dry cargo ship and the tanker did not get water and there was no risk of sinking.

    A tanker and a cargo ship collided on ten miles west of  Sivriada island in Istanbul, and the salvage and rescue teams are sent to the region.

     The dry cargo ship and tanker collided 30 miles off İmralı Island. Rescue vessels connected to the coastal police from Bursa and Istanbul were referred to the accident area where there was no dead or injured. It was learned that the dry cargo ship and the tanker did not get water and there was no risk of sinking.

    The collided ships are said to be LPG tanker Gammagas, which is flagged by Mongolia, fully laden, on the way from Tekirdağ to Odessa port of Ukraine.

    The other colliding vessel, Turkish flag Ersoylar-1 is a coaster, small dry cargo ship of the 1982-built which is 90 meters long. These types of vessels can usually be used for transportation of sand.

    The cause of the accident is not clear yet, but it is learned that the Gammagas tank is traversing to wait for the entrance to the Bosphorus.

    Lpg Gammagaz is anchored to anchorage C of Ahirkapi roads under escort of tug Kurtarma 6.
