The 'He Shun-37' grounded in the Navakavu Marine Protected Area, a 21-year-old marine protected area of the Navakavu tribe, on Sep 22, 2018. The villagers of Waiqanake, which is outside Lami Town, feared the incident might threat the marine ecosystem in case of an oil spill. On board the ship were two Asian nationals.
