KOSDER's SHIPROUTE 2026 in Istanbul will spotlight Germany's maritime ties, featuring key discussions on geopolitics, financing, and green transformation.

Germany will be the guest country of SHIPROUTE 2026.

The international maritime event SHIPROUTE 2026, organized by KOSDER, will take place on October 8, 2026, in Kuruçeşme, Istanbul. Germany will be the guest country at this year's third edition of the organization.

A press conference regarding SHIPROUTE 2026 was held at EKOL Shipping, where details about the event's preparation process and program were shared by KOSDER President Neslihan Torlak Gönençer.

Gönençer stated that Germany was chosen as the guest country due to its strong relations with the Turkish maritime sector and its significant role in shipbuilding financing. She expressed that SHIPROUTE 2026 will be an important platform to enhance the visibility of the Turkish maritime sector internationally and noted that the organization is planned on a global scale.

The event, which will start in the afternoon, will feature three panel sessions. Following the program, a cocktail and gala dinner will be held.

Geopolitical developments and financing will be discussed.

The first panel to be held during the event will address the topic 'Geopolitical Effects of the New World and Their Reflections on Maritime.' Durmuş Ünüvar will participate as a panelist, while Tamer Kıran and Gaby Bornheim, President of the German Shipowners Association, will join as speakers. It was noted that discussions are ongoing regarding the participation of Dr. Regine Grienberger, the Consul General of Germany in Istanbul.

The second panel will evaluate the financing opportunities and risk management issues of the sector under the title 'Global Credit Solutions and Risk Management for Maritime Transportation.' Oral Hoca will moderate the session. Representatives from Northcape Finance and Metin Düzgit are planned to be part of the panel, while two speakers are still in the process of being confirmed.

Green transformation and alternative fuels will be on the agenda.

The third panel of the program will focus on green energy transformation and digitalization in maritime. Nafiz Hoca from Piri Reis University will participate in the session, where GİSBİR's green transformation efforts and international energy and fuel policies will be evaluated.

The panel will also feature Cüneyt Kozakoğlu, who will provide assessments regarding alternative fuels and developments in the Strait of Hormuz.

The press conference concluded with participants' questions being answered and an exchange of views.
