The İMEAK Chamber of Shipping (DTO) held its first council meeting of 2026 on Thursday, January 29, 2026, with the attendance of the Commander of the Naval Forces, Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu.
The meeting was chaired by Council President Başaran Bayrak and took place in the Chamber Council Hall. It was attended by notable figures including the Commander of the Northern Sea Area, Rear Admiral Aziz Bakıoğlu, Rear Admiral İlkay Çek from the Naval Forces Command, retired Admiral Metin Ataç, former Commander of the Naval Forces, as well as the presidents of affiliated organizations and invited guests.
In his speech, Chairman Tamer Kıran provided valuable insights to the council members regarding economic and sectoral issues. Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu also delivered a presentation on the activities carried out by the Turkish Naval Forces.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Tamer Kıran and Başaran Bayrak presented Admiral Tatlıoğlu with a painting that creatively combined a world map with the Black Sea Vessel, showcasing various products sent to European ports following the declaration of the Republic and highlighting Turkey's contributions.
