Heidmar acquires Q-Shipping, boosting fleet to 50 ships and expanding into Turkey and the Netherlands with a strategic Istanbul office.

The Athens-based shipping company Heidmar has entered Turkey from the Netherlands. Heidmar's CEO, who acquired the Netherlands-based Q-Shipping, stated, 'We entered two countries overnight.'

The Dutch company's only office outside of Rotterdam is in Istanbul. With the acquisition, the Greek company's fleet has increased to 50 ships, adding 9 vessels to its portfolio.

Heidmar, one of Greece's most significant shipping companies, has entered Turkey from the Netherlands. The Athens-based ship management company Heidmar Maritime Holdings has purchased the Dutch Q-Shipping, which has its only global office in Istanbul. With the acquisition of the Dutch company, which has deep roots in Turkey, Heidmar's fleet has gained 9 additional ships.

Heidmar Maritime Holdings' CEO, Pankaj Khanna, stated that the acquisition of Rotterdam-based Q-Shipping strengthens Heidmar's fleet. The number of ships under commercial management has reached 50, while the number of ships under technical management has increased to 16, allowing the Greek company to step into two countries with a single acquisition.

    ‘WE ENTERED 2 COUNTRIES OVERNIGHT’

CEO Khanna said, 'This acquisition is a clear example of how we plan to grow Heidmar: by increasing the number of ships with minimal capital and immediate operational gains to open up new markets. We are gaining a managerial presence in both the Netherlands and Turkey overnight, along with a skilled crew operation in Ukraine; this provides us with the platform and human resources to take on more assignments and scale the fleet we manage across the region. It reflects a small investment with strategic value and the disciplined, capital-efficient path we plan to establish the company.'

    TRADED ON NASDAQ

Founded in 1984 under the name Heidenrich, Heidmar is a company that grows through acquisitions and partnerships, with its shares traded on the US Nasdaq Stock Exchange. Besides Athens, the company has offices in London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai.

Q-Shipping, acquired by the Greek company, was established in 1997 by a small group of captains and shipowners in the Barendrecht area of Rotterdam. The only office of the company outside the Netherlands is located in Istanbul.
