As a subsidiary of Global Investment Holding and the world's largest cruise port operator, Global Ports Holding has opened Europe’s largest cruise terminal. The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Cruise Port Terminal, developed under a €40 million investment plan allocated for the modernization of 3 cruise terminals in the Canary Islands, is designed to serve 4 cruise ships simultaneously with three boarding bridges.
Developed in collaboration with GPH’s local partner SEPCAN, the terminal further strengthens the island as a significant destination in international cruise tourism. The layout of the terminal ensures seamless and efficient operations for both transit visits and ships using it as a home port, while also giving the island a modern and inviting image. The new terminal building was constructed in accordance with the latest sustainability and innovation standards, utilizing recycled and environmentally friendly materials. Additionally, energy-efficient systems and solar energy solutions were integrated into the building, and responsible waste management practices were implemented. As a result, the terminal has become a reference model for sustainable port infrastructure in Europe.
