After the power loss of the 'Loch Seaforth' lost power just over an hour into the 10

After the power loss of the 'Loch Seaforth' lost power just over an hour into the 10.30 a.m. sailing from Ullapool with 343 passengers and crew on board on Aug 8, in its firts amended timetable the ferry provider issued all sailings were delayed by at least six hours that day with more delays expected throughout the weekend. The first service of the day was due to leave on Aug 9 at 7 a.m. from Stornoway but that was put back to 1 p.m. CalMac advised those wishing to travel to “secure passage” by start boarding at 9.30 a.m. as check would close at 11 a.m. But it left 45 minutes late triggering even more delays throughout the rest of the day’s sailings. It was expected to arrive in Ullapool at 3.30 p.m. but was late due to its late departure with the return journey to depart at 4.30 p.m. instead at 10.30 a.m. A second amended timetable saw the 10.30 a.m. service finally leave at 5.15 p.m. with an arrival in Stornoway at 7.45 p.m. The 2 p.m. return service to Ullapool was scheduled to depart at 8.45 p.m. with an estimate arrival of 11.15 p.m. Foot passengers on that service arriving in Ullapool were advised to alert either CalMac or Citylink before departing Stornoway if onward bus transport to Inverness is required. The last crossing of the day wwas at 12.15 a.m. and was only due to arrive in Stornoway harbour on Aug 10 at 2.45 a.m.
