Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri reported a net profit of EUR102 million (US$117 million) for the first half of 2026, nearly tripling last year's figure, as revenues held steady at EUR4.58 billion (US$5.274 billion), reported Shanghai's iMarine.
EBITDA rose by 12.5 percent to EUR350 million, lifting the margin to 7.6 percent from 6.8 percent. The order book stood at EUR74 billion (US$85.211 billion) as of June 30, with delivery schedules stretching to 2039.
Shipbuilding revenue fell by 5.9 percent to EUR3.157 billion, though EBITDA climbed by 7.9 percent to EUR236 million, driven by stronger cruise ship profitability. Cruise revenues rose by 14.5 percent to EUR2.439 billion, while defense revenues dropped to EUR687 million from EUR1.184 billion.
Offshore and specialized vessels revenue increased by 22.4 percent to EUR792 million, with EBITDA up by 14.4 percent to EUR40 million. Orders in the first half totaled EUR6.12 billion (US$7.047 billion), giving a book-to-bill ratio of 1.3.
Four cruise ship orders became effective, including two for Carnival's AIDA Cruises and two for Viking Cruises. Deliveries in the period included five cruise ships, four CSOVs, and one cable-laying vessel.
