The 'Melderskin' suffered technical problems in the morning of Aug 30, 2018, and had to be withdrawn from the Leirvåg-Sløvåg route after an auxiliary engine failed. A replacement boat was to be inserted with a first departure from Sløvåg at 12.45 p.m. The 'Melderskin' was sidelined in Mongstad for repairs, and the ferry 'Bjønefjord' was staffed in Sunnhordland to replace the 'Melderskin' in case a longer repairs was needed.
