Ferry pulled back to quay after engine breakdown

On June 9, 2017, the "Kvam", serving the route Larsnes - Åram - Voksa - Kvamsøya, suffered engine damage near Kvamsøya. People at Hakallestranda heard two loud bangs after the ferry departed around 10.30 a.m. with 10 passengers on board. The ship drifted off the shore. The ambulance boat "Ambu" came to assist and pulled the ferry to Kvamsøya around 11 a.m. A reserve ferry was to be inserted but had to be called off from the Skjeltene - Lepsøy - Haramsøy route and was expected four hours later. The "Kvam" was to be towed to a yard for checks.
