The ship managed to stop at 1.44 p.m., dropping fore and aft anchors about 30 meters off a dredger, barely avoiding a collision. Wind and current turned the ship and it drifted across the channel, blocking all traffic. At 2.28 p.m.crew managed to restart one of engines, and the ship resumed sailing at a reduced speed to an anchorage at kilometer mark 170.
