Euroseas is set to order two 1,800 TEU feeder vessels from CIMC, with deliveries expected in 2028, as reported by IndexBox.
Euroseas is preparing to order two 1,800 TEU Bangkokmax feeder vessels at Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering, reported California's IndexBox. Deliveries are scheduled for 2028.
Market sources indicate that the Nasdaq-listed Greek shipowner is finalizing contracts, with some describing the deal as firm. Pricing is expected to be around US$32 million per vessel, in line with recent contracts for similar standard designs.
The ships are understood to mirror a series ordered by Danaos Corporation at the same yard late last year. Analysts noted that it is unclear whether Euroseas is ordering against a specific employment contract or taking a speculative position.
Euroseas currently operates 21 ships with a combined capacity of just above 61,000 TEU. The company has been active in newbuilding, including a March order for two 2,800 TEU high-reefer ships at Huanghai Shipbuilding for delivery by August 2028.
If confirmed, the CIMC SOE order would raise Euroseas' boxship orderbook to eight vessels, extending its fleet expansion strategy.
