Euroseas Ltd orders two more 1,800 TEU feeder ships for delivery in 2028 and 2029, enhancing its fleet amid a tight market.

Euroseas Ltd has exercised options for the construction of two additional 1,800 TEU feeder containerships at Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering in China, scheduled for delivery in December 2028 and March 2029, reported LA's Globe Newswire.

The vessels, priced at about US$32.26 million each, will be financed through a mix of debt and equity. Chairman and CEO Aristides Pittas stated that the orders follow two similar ships contracted in April 2026 and reflect the company's strategy of disciplined fleet renewal.

Mr. Pittas noted that the feeder and sub-6000 TEU market remains tight, with limited newbuilding activity and an ageing fleet. He emphasized that Euroseas sees strong fundamentals supporting investment in this vessel category.

Euroseas currently operates 21 container ships with a combined capacity of 61,144 TEU. Its fleet includes 15 feeder and six intermediate vessels.

The company has 12 ships under construction, including four intermediate and eight feeder units, due between 2027 and 2029. After delivery, the fleet will rise to 33 vessels with a total capacity of 97,396 TEU.

Euroseas was formed in 2005 under Marshall Islands law to consolidate the Pittas family's shipping interests. It trades on Nasdaq under the ticker ESEA and manages operations through Eurobulk Ltd, an affiliated company certified under ISO standards.
