Europort 2013 seeks papers for presentation at November Rotterdam meetingEUROPORT 2013 has issued a call for papers for its Advanced Technology Conferences, in a bid to attract leading national and international players to showcase cutting edge ideas, which will sustain growth in the special-purpose ships sector, as mainstream markets continue to stagnate.

Europort 2013, whose overarching theme is "pioneers in maritime technology", takes place at the exhibition and conference centre Ahoy Rotterdam from November 5-8.

The "Advanced Technology Conferences", organised in cooperation with Holland Marine Equipment (HME), consist of a series of short workshops to update visitors on the latest innovations in maritime technology.

Each workshop will focus on a specific sector of the maritime industry, with dedicated sessions on mega yachts, naval specials, workboats, offshore, inland navigation and construction vessels.

Entry forms can be downloaded at www.europort.nl. Each presentation is limited to 20 minutes and must focus on both innovation and application. Submissions should be received by June 1 and will be assessed by an independent panel of judges for relevance to the workshop theme, technological innovation, market potential and originality.

"The Netherlands is known the world over for its maritime knowledge, high quality technology and shipyards that have been pioneering when it comes to value added ships," says Raymond Siliakus, Europort Exhibition manager.

In addition to the Advanced Technology Conferences, Europort 2013's four-day exhibition will provide plenty of scope to access latest technological thinking. More than 1,000 exhibitors will gather, including pavilions from countries such as China, Finland, France, South Korea, USA, Poland, Romania, Spain, the Netherlands and United Kingdom.

"The event is rapidly selling out and nearly 90 per cent of the available stand space is definitely reserved. Organisations wanting to present their advanced technologies at Europort 2013 need to act quickly or they may miss out," said Mr Siliakus.
