DP World has successfully transported over 55,000 kg of equipment to India and Sri Lanka for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, ensuring timely readiness.
DP World has moved more than 55,000 kg of broadcast and match equipment to India and Sri Lanka for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, reported Mumbai's STAT Times.
The global logistics provider coordinated shipments from Singapore, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates between December 2025 and January 2026. This operation ensured that venues and production teams were ready on time.
In India, nine international shipments arrived in Delhi, comprising more than 620 packages weighing over 25,000 kg. These included critical broadcast systems and match infrastructure. In Sri Lanka, DP World managed 10 air shipments and six sea freight containers, covering more than 465 packages weighing over 30,000 kg.
Rizwan Soomar, CEO and Managing Director for the Subcontinent, Central Asia, and Levant, stated that the scale of the operation required precise planning and speed. He added that handling shipments from multiple origins under tight timelines demonstrated the strength of the company's global network.
DP World emphasized that close coordination with customs and ICC operations teams, along with its integrated air and sea freight capabilities, ensured safe and timely delivery. The company also highlighted its recent logistics support for the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup in Namibia as proof of its agility in managing complex sporting events.
