The bulk carrier NOTA APP, facing engine failure, was safely towed to Ahırkapı by tugs KURTARMA-6 and MEHMETÇİK without casualties.
While en route from Istanbul to Ukraine, the bulk carrier named NOTA APP, measuring 188 meters in length, experienced a machinery failure near Üsküdar in the Istanbul Strait. Under the coordination of the Vessel Traffic Services Center, the ship was safely anchored at Ahırkapı with the assistance of pilot captain Nazım Tur, the tugboat Mehmetçik, and the tugboat KURTARMA-6.
Safe Towage with Tugboats
The vessel that experienced a machinery failure was brought under control by being towed by the tugboats KURTARMA-6 and MEHMETÇİK. As a result of the efforts made, the ship was safely delivered to the Ahırkapı anchorage area.
Safety of Life and Property Ensured
In a statement made by the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, it was noted that there were no casualties or environmental pollution as a result of the incident, and that maritime traffic continued safely with the necessary precautions in place.
