In the search efforts for the victims of the Filo Jet passenger ship that sank off the coast of Girne, the body of one more person has been recovered. Search operations continue for the remaining 10 missing individuals.

According to a statement from the Prime Ministry of the TRNC, the body of another person was found on September 29. Thus, the number of fatalities in the disaster has risen to 18. A DNA examination has been initiated to identify the recovered individual.
The identities of two individuals have been confirmed.
DNA examinations for the two bodies found over the weekend have been completed. It has been determined that the bodies belong to 5-year-old Mehmet Asaf Biçer and Nihat Pancar.
In the statement, condolences were expressed to the families of the deceased, and it was reported that search efforts for the remaining 10 missing individuals are ongoing.
