Galataport Istanbul offers enriching workshops for children during the semester break, featuring art and gastronomy activities from January 17 to February 1.

Galataport Istanbul is adding color to the semester break with its event calendar designed for children. The extensive activity program featuring art and gastronomy-themed workshops invites children of various age groups to explore their creativity, gain inspiration, and acquire new skills between January 17 and February 1.

During the mid-term holiday, Galataport Istanbul will host workshops and activities that support creativity and manual skills. Within the broad program that brings together different disciplines, children will enjoy creating in various branches of art and the field of gastronomy.

The Rock Paper Scissors Workshops will stimulate the imagination of children aged 4-10 with activities centered around painting, ceramics, and recycling concepts. In the “In the Footsteps of a Painter: Frame Design” event, three-dimensional wooden frames will be created inspired by Picasso's cubism movement. In the “Ceramic Modeling” activity, small accessories will be made from ceramic clay, while in the “Making Seed Objects from Waste Papers” activity, special papers and objects will be created using recycled papers and colorful seeds, promoting recognition of nature-related elements and encouraging creative expression. In the “Winter-Themed Arrangement” workshop, fairy-tale-like winter arrangements will be prepared using figures and various materials, while the “Winter-Themed Banner Design” event will bring seasonal figures and fun printing techniques to life in colorful and cheerful banners.

Children aged 5-12 will get acquainted with the brand's most beloved flavors in the Coffee World Chocolate Workshop, accompanied by the story of chocolate. The Mezzaluna Pizza Workshop will take children aged 6-12 on a creative journey into the fun world of cooking. Inspired by their chefs, children will experience the joy of preparing their dream pizza by hand.

The comprehensive event series prepared by Istanbul Modern aims to provide children with a cultural and artistic perspective, offering children aged 7-10 the opportunity to explore different forms of artistic expression and develop their production and interpretation skills from January 19 to January 30. Workshops under the titles “Art with Micro Forms,” “Sculpture with Ready-Made Objects,” “The Painting of Walls,” “Abstract and Abstraction,” “Collages of the City,” “Stains and Lines,” “My Landscape,” “Self-Portraits with Images,” “Lyrical or Geometric?” and “Modern Figurative Paintings” will invite art-loving children on a multifaceted exploration adventure.

The “A Moment, A Story” Painting Workshop at the Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum will focus on visual storytelling and narrative construction through a single moment. In the “A Moment, A Form” Sculpture Workshop, children will use sculpture not to resemble something, but to express a moment and emotion with their hands.

The Masterpiece Workshops designed for ages 5 and above will bring science, art, and production-themed workshops to life on January 31 and February 1, providing children with the opportunity to acquire new skills in a fun atmosphere. Activities titled “Fun Science Workshop,” “Sculpture Workshop,” “Cookie Decorating,” and “Painting Workshop” will support curiosity, manual skills, and creativity.

The “Cup Painting Children’s Workshop” by Doğuş Automotive Plus, which families can also attend, will detail a production process where guests over the age of 7 can freely express their creativity by painting their cups. “Real Nature Stories with Alper Tüydeş” will invite children and their families to empathize with nature through short stories about real encounters with nature in Turkey. Supported by visual storytelling and interactive questions, the workshop will nurture curiosity while addressing themes of observing, protecting nature, and establishing respectful relationships with living beings in a simple and inspiring language.
