French shipping giant CMA CGM has taken delivery of a 13,000-TEU vessel from South Korean builder HD Hyundai Samho, reports Melbourne's Baird Maritime. The new ship, CMA CGM Helium, is part of a 12-vessel series equipped with dual-fuel engines capable of running on methanol. She has joined CMA CGM's service linking China, South Korea, Singapore, Egypt, Lebanon, Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

The vessel features a length overall of 335 metres, a beam of 51 metres and a draught of 15 metres. All ships in the series will be registered under the Maltese flag.

The remaining vessels are scheduled for delivery between 2025 and 2026. CMA CGM Iron, the first in the series, was delivered earlier this year and is currently operating on routes between Asia and the Persian Gulf.
