China's wind turbine exports rose 50% in 2025, reaching eight million kilowatts, as manufacturers expand globally, according to Caixin.
China's wind turbine exports surged 50 per cent in 2025 to roughly eight million kilowatts, marking a record high as manufacturers accelerated overseas expansion, reported Caixin.
The estimate was based on data released in January by Qin Haiyan, secretary general of the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the China Renewable Energy Society.
Mr. Qin stated that cumulative exports had surpassed 28 gigawatts by the end of 2025, a 13-fold increase from two gigawatts a decade earlier. This rapid growth signals a structural shift for Chinese green-technology firms, which are increasingly building production bases abroad to navigate trade barriers and secure long-term growth.
Chinese wind companies have entered more than 60 countries and regions, establishing strong positions in developing markets such as Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Uzbekistan. They have also set up production bases or research and development centers in over 20 countries, including five factories in India and facilities in Germany and Denmark.
