Funeral Program Announced
The funeral program for the late Hamdi Safi has been finalized. Following his passing, a funeral prayer will be held for Safi at Altunizade Marmara Theology Mosque after the noon prayer on Monday, March 9. After the prayer and the recitation of prayers, Safi's remains will be taken to Çekmeköy Ekşioğlu Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest in his eternal resting place. A wide participation from the business, civil society, and political communities is expected at the farewell ceremony.
Who is Hamdi Safi?
Recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit and broad vision, Hamdi Safi was a respected figure who held key roles in various strategic sectors throughout his business career. Having successfully operated in the construction and building sector for many years, Safi contributed numerous significant projects to the industry as the owner of Safi Yapı Sistemleri A.Ş.
Safi also played a critical role in the maritime sector, particularly in providing pilotage services to ships in the Izmit Gulf. In this context, he was among the founding partners of Anadolu Kılavuzluk A.Ş. (ANKAŞ), established in 2019 to operate in the region, and he shared his expertise with the sector as a member of the company's board of directors.
Beyond his commercial investments, the late businessman placed great importance on education, research, and technological development, taking on active and voluntary responsibilities in these areas as well. As a member of the Board of Trustees of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University (RTEÜ) Development Foundation, Safi supported higher education, and he also served as a board member at Digitalpark Technopolis, which produces advanced technology and innovative solutions, sharing his experiences with young entrepreneurs. In addition to his successful career, the late Hamdi Safi was a beloved, charitable, and respected individual.
