In the Bandırma district of Balıkesir, a cargo ship with 8 crew members ran aground due to adverse weather conditions.
Efforts to salvage the vessel are ongoing. The incident occurred around 11:00 PM in the Bandırma Gulf. The cargo ship named 'Brabus,' registered under the Cameroonian flag, drifted and collided with the rocks at the breakwater of the marina due to unfavorable weather conditions.
It has been reported that the 99-meter-long and 15-meter-wide vessel was not carrying any cargo at the time. Three tugboats belonging to Bandırma Çelebi Port were dispatched to the scene for the salvage operation. While the efforts to rescue the ship from its current position continue, it has been confirmed that the health conditions of the 8 crew members are good.
